APHE round filler does not seem to be doing anything post pen, only round kenetics and maybe spall seem to be in effect.
Maybe linked to HE bug already known but have not see it spoken of in regards to tank rounds or APHE rounds, test video seems to backup view with shells killing single crew and in general very few ammo cook offs or fires which was very high on Sherman tanks in the past.
As this video clearly demonstrates rounds exploding within the amour would be level of magnitude higher than seen in game at the moment, also consider the HE explosion would also launch the head of the shell further forward along projectile path:
Testing results -warning long video
Likey to also effect Allied APHE rounds but less units use them so impact not as impactful.

I’ve tagged Hatch and Corn on this. Prod questions, especially ammo related are outside of my comfort zone to reply on. I want y’all to have feedback, this means of reporting has payed off huge in finding issues that we being a small team can and do miss.
We appreciate the effort, but you probably oughta hold your horses on the HE/APHE testing for right now.
There has been a longstanding HE bug issue with non-pen HE and complications with post penetration HE/APHE for years that has finally been addressed, and coinciding with its release, old compensation “bandaids” are being removed for the next patch (1.37.13).
Ever wonder why at one point as an armored crew, you used to be able to “get your bell rung” (shaky screen and see grey and red) and could get wounded but not always die inside armored vehicles, and at one point it changed to the way it is now where in most cases, you are either 100% healthy or you are 100% dead?
In 1.37.11, shrapnel increased on larger ordnance to historical effective shrapnel counts. The total accumulative mass of the shrapnel was still the same resulting in more shrapnel of smaller kenetic energy, which illuminated some of the same less than accurate internal shrapnel and spall effectiveness you have been reporting (due to a previously misguided concussive damage bandaid of pre-2010 origin) that is also being addressed in 1.37.13.
Bottom line is that shrapnel penetration and soft internal component (crew, fuel tanks, radiators, etc.) resistance to smaller KE damage (shrapnel and spall) is getting a complete overhaul as we speak that will result in shrapnel, spalling, and internal explosive concussive damage being far more effective than it is right now.
So while we appreciate your efforts in this area to help us find normal one-off errors that we might have missed, because of all these known errors, their fixes, and other changes coming in the next patch, your time and effort will be far more appropriate and usefull following the 1.37.13 release.
Stay tuned!
<S!> Hatch

Can you explain why 250kg can kill S35 but not M4 and M10 with thinner armor?

1.37.13 When will it be released?

It’s probably months away. And that is only a guess. And until they are close, they aren’t even going entertain a release time frame.

250kg is HE. The HE model is full of issues, probably predictable or not. If you have any question about the HE damage affect, hatch has already given a more than adequate explanation. Stop spinning your wheels about the HE stuff. It’s broken, and will be fixed when it is fixed, but is currently being worked on.

With this new HE update released 7/7/25 (1.37.14.0), this should have been amped up. If there is a specific issue to report in the future, with clear actionable data to support, feel free to generate a new ticket with specifics, videos, tests, etc.
