I personally do not mind whatever vision the team chooses to pursue, this is not a bug report but feedback from testing.
Trim rate limit is very minor. Bordering on making it safer to apply max trim in situations since it does not risk G spike insta wing rips
I know nothing about planes aside from other ‘sim’ games – ww2ol trim engagement is still the fastest even after this new limit
Attached is vid clip of me testing trim rate limit and observing that from 0 to 100% now takes ~1-2sec instead of being instant like before

1) It was never the goal to negate trim effects. Trim is an important part of flying, and we can’t take something out of the game that is common and required on all AC.
2) Trim doesn’t give you more elevator or aileron authority in the game than those control surfaces at 100% by themselves. So what you are reporting in the video (the use of full 100% uptrim) doesn’t really mean much below speeds at which you can already get full control authority, and so only come into “boost” play at speeds that give you higher aerodynamic resistance than the 50lbs control input you have at the stick to get full deflection. That, or when your ATP is low and you’re just too exhausted to get full deflection, is when trim can lessen some of the control surfaces resistance to stretch your stick force a little farther. As could be done in a real plane… So…
3) The specific issue we are trying to address is folks mapping trim to the joystick as an automatic “control boost” hack. With the ability to map trim to axis, button, or key press, and having instantaneous trim response, this could be “overly” useful in some situations. So we added the 5-6 second “lock-to-lock” actuation limitation, not so much to prevent dialing it in while in a single plane flat turn that will eventually end up slower than any trim can help anyway, but instead to block any possible advantage in a rolling scissors type of input scenario. If you try to use trim in such a fashion at present, you will soon find your trim quite “out of sync” with your intended inputs and will be fighting your trim more than the enemy pilot. That’s the only goal of the actuation restriction. Just to be slow enough not to be useful as an “automatic control assist” in rapid and alternating ACM type control inputs.
