Axis AWS is seriously Fubar there are way to many ghost squares lighting up across the World map when allied pilots are over axis teritory. see pics for reference. in the picture of 11 blocks lit up there are really only 3-5 allied pilots up but the map is lighting 11 blocks of AWS up. this has been going on for years and really needs to be fixed its totally unfair to axis pilots.

I get that OHM wants to keep some variables in there to make it a little unpredictable, but this is a major bug that has been plagueing the air (and ground) game for most likely a decade

After some additional discovery, the original design implementation was to provide a fog of war to some extent by adding in “ghost” squares designed to alert the general area of where enemy aircraft is, but to not directly give them away. Not sure where this fits yet on the priority list but it is code work.
Ohm does not control this, only the time it takes for when these squares light up when an aircraft has entered them and the number of aircraft it takes to make a square red which represents heavy AWS.
By 1943, radar was already capable of accurately detecting aircraft 200km away.

As best as memory serves. The orginal team implimented this not as radar but as type of reported sightings. As Xoom mentioned it as had a fog or war type thing where it would give occasional false sightings. Later coverage was added if a plane flew over the ocean or the undeveloped parts of the map to discoarge skirting the aws.
